Cody joined CIL CONSULTING in January 2016
Cody holds three Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (United States) in Law, Political Science and French as well as a Master of European Union Law from the Université de Paris II, Panthéon-Assas (France).
Cody started his career in data protection at the European Commission as a legal advisor in the Commission’s negotiation team for the 4th Anti-Money Laundering Directive. In 2014, Cody continued on to join the European and International Affairs Department at the French Data Protection Authority (la CNIL) where he collaborated on questions regarding international transfers of personal data, the banking/financial sector, American surveillance and the fight against terrorism.
Specialist on the banking/financial sector, client identification and verification (KYC), international personal data transfers, American law and Privacy, Cody carries out data protection audits, accompanies organizations with Data Protection/Privacy by Design obligations, leads a CNIL Certified training session dedicated to the banking/financial sector and heads certification applications with the CNIL and other public organizations (ex: ASIP for health data hosting services).
